| Best tires for Moab Utah riding | mooseknuckle Feb 25, 2003 8:25 PM | | I'm heading out mid April and am hoping I already have the optimal tires for riding the area. Also, using Stan's. Can anyone reccommend the best tires?
Thanks |

For the rides that have lots of other surfaces to contend with, such as Porcupine Rim, you might prefer a nice all round purpose fat tire (I prefer MotoRaptors from WTB in the 2.4 size myself). I didn't ride slimed tires (and havent gone notube yet) and had no problems (one of the guys at a shop explained I would probably run into more thorns/spines by riding the streets in town). |
| Road slicks for slick rock trail...... | FreeRangeChicken Feb 26, 2003 8:08 AM | | ....they work great. On Slickrock trail you spend about 95% of your time riding on sandstone. I ride Panaracer Fire XC Pro on other trails(Porcupine Rim, Amasa Back, Flat Pass, etc...). A good all around tire. |
| Thanks to you both. I'm doing Porcupine rim nm. | mooseknuckle Feb 26, 2003 10:49 AM | | nm |

What tires? I'd say your old ones. All the loose stuff on Porcupine tears them up and the Slickrock isn't too easy on them either. I used well worn Fire XC Pros out there last May and had a blast.
Have fun, I'm going the second week in May. I can't fuggin'wait!!! |
