Do they work well? Are they worth it?

yes and no...they're good at keeping most dirt and other crap off of the fork legs BUT if they get soaked they'll hold the water onto the legs which isn't good!...well worth the $$ but take 'em off if they
get wet!

I used 'em for a while and they didn't seem to do much but hold dirt against the fork. AngryAsian.com doesn't like 'em for the same reason. They let water and dirt right through, so I'm not sure what purpose they really serve. I use em now just when the bike's on the car roof to keep bug splatter off the stanchions. Then I take 'em off when I ride.
thanks....just a thought....Egg

I wonder if doucing them with 'scotch-guard' would help with the water issue?

I thought that was to keep stains from sticking and not a water proofing spray?

I've been using them for a year and a half now and they appear to have worked very well. THe shocks are in great shape after 2500 miles of dusty (summer) and muddy (winter) riding.

I also haven't had issues with water getting trapped inside. The neoprene seals fairly well at the top of the slider and has openings at the bottom where the seals are....letting water (if it gets in there) out.

I remove the fork boots weekly to clean them, get rid of trapped dirt, and re-lube the fork seals.

The only thing that would make them better is if they went on easier.

Good Luck
