I stripped the threads that hold the freehub on in the rear hub and want to buy at least a new rear wheel, maybe both. I'm pretty overwhelmed at the selection a wheelsets available and need some help finding a new one. I weigh about 200lb and ride XC I would like a wheelset that is both rim brake and disc compatable and have no need to spend mega bucks on it. Any suggestions? Where to buy? Thanks. |

Feb 27, 2003 2:36 PM | | I just bought the Deore Disc/Sun Rhyno Lite wheels from Jenson for $89, and like them. They're not much heavier, if any, than the OEM hub/Weimnman Zac-19 I used to have, and I'm sure they're much stronger. I'm running a front disc and rear V, so that's why I went with this combo. The price can't be beat, IMO.

Feb 28, 2003 2:25 PM | | Just be glad they're in stock...I ordered them in late November, around the 23rd, and got them TWO MONTHS to the day later. But I could wait, what with the price. And it was worth it, they're good wheels, and seem well-built...they're not perfect, but darn near close.
Just so you know, the rims are drilled for presta tubes only...so you'd better grab some if you only have Schraders. |
