After some (ahem) years I have been replacing every piece of housing on my bike, using some nice Jagwire Kevlar weave housing. Interestingly, on every piece of housing I have taken off so far (only a couple left to go) the outer plastic cover has receded from the internal reinforcing wires, leaving about 1/8" of wires showing at either end of each piece of housing. It's like the plastic has shrunk. Housing seems to be a motley collection of Shimano SIS / what have you, but it's all linear wire housing. Anyone else notice this? Enquiring minds want to know...

It may be dull & dumb, but it beats talking politics / headset mounting / taper greasing.

You rule!

Sorry, no scientific discovery here, just pure admiration.
