Max tire size for NRS1 and tire choice(4 posts)

Max tire size for NRS1 and tire choiceBryan MT

I'm considering the hutchinson scorpians to replace my pythons. I, however, saw that continental makes a UST version of the vertical pro with a 2.3 size. I thought that since I do more trail riding with samll to medium jumps/drops the larger size would better suit me. I also read the review and it seems that while they're marked 2.3 they act more like 2.2. or 2.1. ANy suggestions or other reccomended tires. I live in the rockies so most of the trails are dry and rochy. ALso, Here in MOntana there is a lot of reck, almost like Moab slickrock, but a little different.

Scorpions and Pythons are two very different tyres.
Python = Dry Condition
Scorpion = very wet/muddy conditions only. Offers 0 confidence on dry stuff (Can feel very nasty)

A 2.0 Scorpion comes out more like a 2.1 because of the side knobs.
Rode with my Scorpion Gold Elites the other day; Sweet in Wet conditions but shite in anything dry!

Dang I have posted this image a 1000 times but heck here you go:

The Vert Pros are pretty good. Also look at the Nokian tires.

I put a set of Scorpions on my '02 NRS 1 and they are rubbing on the chainstays from flex when cornering.
