looking for a saddle w/ a soft nose, not a chota lancer...head

when i get out on the nose of my saddle for a climb it's pretty uncomfortable so i would like to replace it with something with a bit more cushion. what saddles have you tried that are fairly soft in the tip? weight is a concern also. i don't want to mount a recliner in the seatpost or anything.

thanks,

It looks better in person, soft shell all the way around the saddle. Find them new on eBay for about $20+s/h. Good luck.
Agreed, WTBs have really soft nosesMossy

The nose on my well-worn SST.98 is soft as a pillow!~
Same here, with a caveat...Matno

I love my Speed V's. The one I'm currently riding is a weird one though. Looks about the same as the others, but it weighs a lot less (about 275g!) and has a little less padding. It's actually MORE comfortable to me. For mountain biking, I've never ridden a better saddle. On the other hand, I tried it on my road bike with aerobars, and it was torture. All that soft padding in the front just rubbed the heck out of the boys, so if you're one of those guys who has a really aero position (i.e. bars more than an inch or two below the saddle), it might not work so well. I'd still recommend that you try it. For the price, it's a cheap experiment!
those $9 Bontys are sweetclub

PricePoint I think or one of dem CA places, is always blowing out Bontragers for $9, it's the steel railed one with the embroidered B on the top, B-20, B-30, something like that. The only one ever listed for $9. I got several and totally love them, even better than the classic Bonty because the $9 ones have nice padding in the nose and I climb sitting down so that's a good thing for me. Otherwise, they fit just like all the great Bontys. WTBs are way overpriced, save some dough, get a $9 Bonty then tell me you don't like it, you won't.

I use the Terry Fly and it's very comfortable. The nose is very well padded and it's also one of the lightest padded saddles out there.

I use the Terry Fly Ti (titanium rails). It has a leather cover. There is also a steel rail version with a different cover. I haven't tried that.

Terry offers a 60-day money back policy...so you have nothing to lose.
