I know the weather forecast is lousy, but I got the weekend off & free of any family/girlfriend commitments. Looking for something Bike related to do. Otherwise, I'll plan on a solo epic somewhere here in Jersey followed by a long night in the pub. Yes, there are plenty of great trails & pubs here too.

If the weather is completely for sh-t, I may just stay in & build the evil twin (urban) sister of the cruiser below. Just picked up a NOS identical frame from ebay. The twin will sport a polished rigid front end with either 2.0 Dyno slicks or WTB 1.5 rubber, a SRAM 9.0 set & various other goodies. I am bored at work today, so just say the word if you want the full spec's or have any build suggestions.

Thanks for any ideas.

One of the best races in the North East/Mid Atlantic. The course is long, rocky, technical, and guarenteed to be a good time.

It may be a long drive from NJ, but its worth it.
MICHAUX - 200 miles each way, thanks for the info though (nm)Scott_in_Jersey

Kittatinny Valley SP on Sunday...D.F.L.

..I think it's Sunday, and the weather is supposed to be better than Saturday...

I met a guy out there who was setting up a 5 mile course for the race. Unusual format: 2 hour beginner, 3 hour sport, and 4 hour expert race, most laps wins.

This would be a great way to see the park, IMO, because unless you're a local, you won't be able to string together the myriad of trails. It's probably worth the entry fee to learn the loop. It's not terribly technical, but is still lots of fun. Nice scenery and plenty of cornering. Short ups and downs.

The park is on rt 206 just north of Andover at the southern corner of Sussex co. Easy access from 80.

PS: the Sussex Branch rail trail runs right through the park. It's dirt, and has lots of side trails leading from it. There's a great network of dirt rail trails in Sussex co, if you want to do something mellow or just get in some mileage.
Any addt'l info/contact #'s for this event? - please post (nm)ld
