I go with the CO2 system that is also a pump.

I have the Crank Bros metal alloy pump and it works ok. a litle awkward to use because of its size. It has two settings for easy pumping once you get the tire almost filled. fits nicely on the frame too.

I saw a pump that doubled as a foot held pump made by Topeak, I believe. but I thought it was too bulky and I didn't like the gauge.
Go CO2...Fat-tire

pumping a road tire is a pain in the behind with a minipump.
