..for the 30gms or so in savings at a good place to lose it...well, I had these nice looking dark gray displays that now were about to get lost in the misc parts box. I then looked over at those sorta gawdy silver displays to the Black bikes slick shifting XT pods, and before I knew it....

I think the 2 tone looks good since the levers aren't seen often as will. At least i've never come across them while on the trail.

Yes, i know.."too much time" sometimes.
Yes but if you had left them off the black bike you would have..Malcolm

I think everyone is the same. The other weekend I thought It would be cool to strip my bike down to its bare minimum to weight all the parts. Sad but fun in a MTBer sort of way. Should have weighed the frame!

I was going to take the displays off my XTR shifters also. Not for any weight savings reasons, but mainly because I think that they are ugly, stupid, and useless. However, what do you cover the hole in the shifter underneath with when you remove the display? Tape?

Makes carbon fiber stickers w/their logo on them, trim to fit where shift displays were. One of these days I'll take the time to learn the photo thing, although I think similiar examples have been posted before.
