I have one sitting in my garage right now, and I have yet to use it since i bought it 2 months ago. I orgibally bought it for free riding. But I am entertaining the idea of using it in some xc races. Has anyone done it?

One of the big mags, can't remember which one right now, did an article on using Switchblades for everything from XC to DH. They set up three Switchblades slightly differently, and the general idea was that the bike was so universal in its geometry that you could just tweak a few parts and settings and have a bike for virtually any purpose. It's not gonna be an NRS to be sure, but I don't see why you couldn't easily use it for XC races. Heck, I've used my HT with slicks on it for road races.

I think it can be set up for xc racing and do a great job. Ugh, why would you want it to be an NRS? ;)

Switchblade = Giro Hammerhead with a face guard bolt-onJimC.

so I don't see why not? It will be a bit hotter, but if you have nasty descents you're covered, and you can take off the faceguard and put it into your pack if it bothers you.

Don't think the Hammerhead is made anymore, not even sure if the Sblade is.
