| Noisy chain | DiRt DeViL Apr 25, 2003 1:09 PM | | Recently installed a SRAM PC99 Hollowpin chain to my bike and it's making noises and feels sticky in the middle ring. In the big and granny rings feels and works fine. The drivetrain consists of Shimano XTR derailleurs with XT cranks.
The chain that was replaced was a SRAM PC99 and everything was working perfectly, after changing the chain noise started by shitfing has remained acceptable. Thinking of installing the old chain just to get rid of the sticky feeling.
Any advise? |

I find the best results to use a chain and sprockets for 1000=1500 miles and change the chain, cassette and middle and sometimes the small sprocket. if you change your chain at 500 or less miles usually it's not too bad but more than that and you should just wait and change it all if you want the best performance. tom |
