CO2 pumps - how do you check psi?(3 posts)

CO2 pumps - how do you check psi?ld

Those of you who use mini CO2 pumps on the trail or when racing - how do you verify psi after inflation? Do you pinch the tire & go by feel, or do you also carry a press. gauge? Seems like carrying an additional gadget (press. gauge) defeats the purpose of going "light" with the CO2 inflator, but most are peticular about what psi they are running. The tire squeeze test can only get you in the ballpark - I would think that a 3-5 psi difference is undetectable by this method.
Same way as with a mini/frame pumpshiggy

use your thumb and guess. Or test it at home to see how much pressure is in the tire after you use one (or more) CO2 cartridge.
Sounds pretty logical to me. Thanks. (nm)ld
