| Jeep and Christini AWD | RCNJ Jun 17, 2003 8:46 PM | | A couple of weeks ago I asked about jeep bikes were good bikes or not, all i got was that they ultimately suck, but I saw today Jeep made a bike with the Christini and now has it's own AWD bike, so whats the deal? Are they good, but everyone is skeptical about being the 1st to get one, or do they really suck?

| re: Jeep and Christini AWD | Drewdane Jun 18, 2003 8:00 AM | | I don't know anything about the Jeep angle, but MTBAction (I think) reviewed the Christiani AWD earlier this year and gave it pretty good marks.
Of course, I can't imagine that most MTB riders would really have all that much use for AWD - I view it as a "gee whiz" feature more than a truly useful advance in technology... |
| Christini Demos @ Jim Thorpe/Mtn. Bike Weekend | Adman Jun 18, 2003 8:41 AM | | Five of us in my group took out the new full suspension AWD bike last weekend at Jime Thorpe MBW. The weather was perfect for testing AWD-rainy, muddy, and wet/rocky trails.
The bike rides very well for a 4" travel FS trailbike, even in rear drive mode. The steep, loose climbs were a hoot-just engage the front wheel via thumb switch, stand up, and pedal. I was surprised at the ease with which steep climbs & climbs with turns (switchbacks) were cleaned. If I didn't already love my XC/trailbike so much I'd consider a Christini. They're less expensive than a comparably equipped high-end FS bike (Tracer, Truth, etc.)
