| Sugar Main Pivot... | rbart4506 Jun 18, 2003 5:00 AM | | Hey guys,
I've got a 2000 Sugar3 frame and I've recently redone the main pivot bushing. I pulled it apart cleaned it and replaced the top-hat bushings. Now that I've got it back together I've noticed how susceptible the area is to the elements because of it's location. Has anyone devised some type of a cover for the area, similar to a lizard skin on a shock, to protect the area from dirt and grime. I know this might not be practical because it may restrict movement of the rear swingarm. I'm just curious if there may be a way to increase the life expectancy of the bushings and the timeframe between tear downs. I guess I'm a bit anal and hate squeaky, creaky suspension.
Thanks,

Thanks, |

This last time I replaced the bushings because I started noticing some play in the rear swingarm when I pulled on it laterally.
I'm sure overhauling the suspension will clear things up for you. I'm finding that I have to do mine every few months or so, depending on the weather conditions. This wet spring has not helped things at all.
