I have a friend that wants to buy my old bike, its in great shape but I dont know how much to ask for it. I dont want to rip him off and I dont want to get ripped off.

Its a 98 with SID, XT cranks, XT V-Brakes, XT Shifters/Brake levers, XT Front dlr, XTR rear dlr, Bontranger Mustang wheels, Ringle stem, answer hyperlight handlebars, thomson seat post, selle seat, 747 pedals.

Any input would be appreciated.

how many miles on the components? has the fork ever been rebuilt or sealed? i'd say $500-600 if it's ready to go and needs nothing.

Yeah I was thinking the same price range. Its in great shape and ready to go. Fork was never serviced but it doesnt have that many miles on it. Thanks for the information.

I bought the 8500 and almost a year after I bought it the frame cracked. Trek was just about into production for the next year and they presented me with two choices. I could wait a few weeks and get a new 8500 frame or they would give me a 8900 frame that was left over. The best part about the 8900 deal is that they gave me the SID fork and WTB headset as well. Pretty nice deal I must say.
