Jul 17, 2003 9:56 AM | | I've been running my 02 XT cranks for over a year now. All of a sudden they've began loosening up and creaking after a few rides. I cleaned them and lubed them a few times to stop the creaking. Finally I cranked them down real hard to keep them from loosening. Now when I go around I feel a slight thunking coming from the BB when I'm at the top of my stroke. I took off the crankside arm and pedaled with just the other arm and the thunking went away. With both arms off the bearings spin freely and there isn't any play.
What can I do to further troubleshoot? Did I crush my bearings? |
