| Here's 2: my former (Heckler) and my new (Spider) | Tahoe Gator Aug 15, 2003 5:50 AM | | Former bike, just sold:
New bike:
Had both for a while and both are great bikes. Just didn't need the freeride bike any more as the only mtb riding I was doing was races. |
| Here's 2: my former (Heckler) and my new (Spider) | Bikeless Rider Aug 16, 2003 5:51 PM | | Nice Spider TG, mind if I ask what your rider weight is and how the XTR wheelset is holding up. Considering them my self, as they look laterally stiff and light. Don't know if I'd want to commit to the XTR rotors though, and knowing Shimano, the 2004 XT rotors may not fit them. Looking at a Hammerhead 100X with Talas myself. |
| thoughts on 03 XTR wheelset | Tahoe Gator Aug 16, 2003 8:18 PM | | So far the WH-965 03 XTR tubeless wheelset has held up well. They are super light. I read a german mag review that showed them as being a bit flexy in some lab test they ran; but Bicycling mag just ran a review that says otherwise, however subjective it might be. Mine are still true. I guess for the weight you can't expect super stiff, but I have not had any problems to date. This is basically a race bike, so they fit that purpose really well.
I weigh 170 lbs. |
| Here ya go! | Nuget Aug 15, 2003 6:07 AM | | Love the stealth look of your loco, very very nice.
Just recently took a trip out to Colorado with my girlfriend where she got a chance to test out an XS Loco, she even got here color choice of pepto pink. She absolutly loved the bike and I can see why. Time to start saving the pennies.
Here's my '02 Jamis Dragon I built up the end of last season. Weighs in at just under 25 lbs. Been a great ride so far and has handled all the abuse i've thrown at it. Gotta love the steal.
Have a good one |

| not to be trendy.... | Ride Biker Aug 15, 2003 8:17 AM | | the the Heckler frame that I'm building up this weekend is going to be black on black on black, just like your bike (the poster's picture) I didn't even let them put the decals on it. Nice. |

| 'nother oldie but goodie | logbiter Aug 15, 2003 8:26 AM | | Since no one has posted a Tazmon... New to me last spring, my first FS.
I'm psyched to be able to go for an offroad ride soon, since I've been out of comission due to injured back and ribs for about 8 weeks.
Old pic (but it's all I've got on my work 'puter) from last Sept, soon after I built it up.. got a sweet titec ti stem & hellion bar now as well as EA70 setback post and some handbuilt (by me) rhynolite/xtr hoops.
When will this day END???
Hasta,

| October 18, 1989... | næstep Aug 15, 2003 8:50 AM | | This is my '89 Yokota Yosemite. Scott AT-4 "Aero" handlebars, CatEye "ATC" (All Terrain Computer) mounted to the bars, Tioga slicks and don't forget the Hite-Rite seatpost extender! How about the "Smoke" paint jobs that were popular that year? Whoo-Hoo! What the hell were clipless pedals, anyway?
Backstory: This was taken the day after the '89 Loma Prieta earthquake outside of the Oakland Auditorium (now the Kaiser Convention Center). Good thing I had a cushy "ATB" to ride over all the rough terrain, eh?

| Ooo, I remember that | Kpicha Aug 16, 2003 9:53 AM | | the earthquake, I mean. :) Didn't know what mtn bikes were back then. I was at school in Dallas when my Dad was on business in that area - he called to say that he made home safely. He was driving on that freeway that crumbled to pieces when it happened - luckily, not that particular spot :( (whew) |
