What sequence in upgrade to XTR?wetwonder

I have a mix of deore,xt and lx components. I want to upgrade to XTR - gear pull/lever, derailers, chain, cassette. (I'm sticking with Truvativ Stylo crank.) But I can only afford to upgrade one part at a time. Can anyone suggest which components should come in first, and what order?
Thanks.

You'll not notice enough of a change to justify the price. When something breaks, replace it with XTR. If the part is still good, keep on riding it.
Wait 'til the stuff wears out, then..Brace1

Easy for me to say since I already upgraded all my stuff before anything wore out (it's a sickness).

I would do the shifters, rear derailleur (front XTR won't be a good move since you appear to have compact not standard rings), SRAM chain, then cassette only if you're a weight weenie.
