| Upstate SC riders! Can you reccomend a good tire? | Spyder_Monkey Sep 18, 2003 11:47 AM | | I'm sick of sliding around on my Michelin Jet. Can anyone reccomend a good front tire for mostly hardpack, with some roots? I was thinking Panaracer Fire XC. |
| I've been using UST Mosquitos for a few months now | DudeOnABike Sep 18, 2003 1:11 PM | | ...and they're the best tires I've ever used. Granted, they are only my second UST tires I've used, they really work well for me. They are quite cheap also, but they do wear quickly and are a bit on the heavy side. Good luck.

| OK this may not help but... | beeristasty Sep 18, 2003 2:56 PM | | I live in Columbia and I've been running a WTB EpicWolf or IRC Mythos XC up front. Both hook up pretty well on the roots here, and the EpicWolf rolls stupid fast. |
| I just tried IRC Mythos XC's this weekend.. | Lou S Sep 18, 2003 4:05 PM | | And I really like 'em. They hook VERY well and they're lighter than the Kendas I had on there. This was at Isaqueena under dry conditions. Hopefully I get to try 'em at Camp Croft or Dupont soon.

| Fire XC | kanaka Sep 18, 2003 5:31 PM | | I got some Panaracer Fire XC's a few months ago for my first race at Issaqueena. I didn't do too well, but that's not the tires' fault; the tires are great, as long as you don't have too much deep or sticky mud. I ride mostly at Issaqueena, sometimes DuPont, once in a great while Pisgah. |
| your thinking is correct | SWISS Sep 19, 2003 7:29 AM | | I've ridden the Fire XC pro's on sandy hardpack for several years now and I loves 'em, especially for the front tire. I have a set on my SC SL right now... |
