Scalpel problems?(3 posts)

Scalpel problems?Thierry
Sep 18, 2003 2:37 PM
I own a Scalpel 2000 from 2002. The carbon stay on the left side (not chain stay) started showing a strange problem. The shiny protective layer is pelling off slowly in a small area. I have asked my LBS and the Cannondale response is that it is purely cosmetic and I shouldn't worry about it. Anyone else with the same pb? Any advice on how to deal with Cannondale service? I am thinking about selling my bike but that pb can probably scare people of the bike.

Thanks
TJ

The Carbon stays have a lifetime warranty on them. If you are going to sell it, replace the stays first.

Two mates with Scalpel 800s: one has broken carbon chainstay (first in Australasia according to C'Dale), the other self destructed it's rear linkage and popped both seatstays clean out of the upper pivots...
