Specialized S-works Enduro is CreakyMBKrider

Help, I've tried everything.
It seems that the pivot behind the BB is creaking.
Once cleaned and greased, no sound for 2 to 5 miles, then it's back again!

Suggestions??

I am experiencing the same thing on my specialized xc pro. I've even replaced the bearings. The bolt on the drive side keeps coming loose. Check to make sure this isn't happening to you........this will cause exactly what is happening to you. Sounds good for a couple of miles and then the creak is back!

I have an S Works Enduro, same problem.

One thing to check, it sounds wierd but I had a specific creek one time, and I was SURE that the cranks or BB were the culprit, turns out that the Rear Derailure hanger was bent just a bit, not enough to effect peformance, but enough to make the noise.

Unrelated story, but I just purchased my third hanger for that bike today, been through 2 sets of bushings, two problems with the shock seals, cranks were defective from the factory, original comp frame had a crack (hence the S Works) and lordy knows what else has gone wrong in 9 months of owning it. Specialized has been great about warranting the frame, and My LBS has been good too, but given the chance, I'll try a different FS Trail bike next time. [end rant]

Good luck finding your creak, or learning to tune it out....

Oh yeah, all those things are fixed and it STILL creaks. (This is not the same bike as the crankset above, and believe it or not, I'm not that hard on bikes...)

After 20 months or so and many rough miles my SJ FSR XC pro was creaking like crazy. After cleaning and lubing everything else I finally tackled the bearings. It was a major pain in the ass, but my bike has not made a sound since I replaced them all. It now sounds like new!

Given the fact that my bearings failed in a major way I would say you have to expect to replace them on a regular basis. A year from now I'll probably replace them again, regardless of noise. Many of the bearings were very rough after I took them out.

Good luck, Derek
