Do all disc rotors warp?(4 posts)

Do all disc rotors warp?cabinfever

Are there any disc rotors out there that don't warp? My Hayes on my Giant AC warped within a couple of rides. I can eliminate most of the squeal by opening up the pads so there is more clearance between them and the rotor. But even then, they start to rub again after starting my next ride. I question whether or not the heat generated by braking makes them warp.

My friend just got a new VT with Hayes, and they have warped slightly too. What gives? Are there any brands that are more stable?

zip over to the BRAKES forum and read the FAQ (top of page). Yes it's normal and yes it's a very simple fast fix. Jim
Thanks for the info. I'm obviously new to discs. nm.cabinfever

but a disc hub that doesn't have a true surface for the disc to bolt to. I've had this happen with to hubs.
