Usually...
I don't know if weyless might not recomend it but its normally ok to cut carbon components as long as the process is done correctly. Use a hacksaw with a very fine cutting blade, 28 tooth or more. Wrap the area to be cut in masking tape to avoid fraying. If you have a good pulse you can also use a dremel style tool (prefereably with a snake attachment to make the cutting edge easier to handle) with a fine cutting wheel. This is my prefered method since it will leave a beautiful clean cut with no fraying.
That's right!uofabill

Everything said above is right. The two key points are a really fine toothed saw blade. I like a jewelers saw or an Exacto razor saw, the both have extremely fine blades. Secondly the masking tape which will help prevent fraying of the carbon fibers. After you are done clean up the shape edge with sand paper like 400 grit wet or dry.

Weyless CFX-2 carbon handlebars should NOT be cut. In the process of manufacture, there is an insert piece molded into the handlebar end so that bar ends will not cruch the handlebar, and so that the end of the bar will not begin to delaminate with lng-term use. If the end is cut, this insert may be virtually or totally eliminated, making the end of the handlebar more fragile, and voiding the warranty.
