Ebay is probably the best if you want to cash in. Otherwise, maybe locally but it's difficult to advertise locally for cheap and you often get caught up with providing technical support to the person who buys your gear (which can be painful). I wouldn't bother with other forum sites, they have an audience that knows too much what they want for what price, basically a bunch of cheapos. Compare to ebay where you may have Moms or Wives who know nothing about bikes yet want to buy one as a gift to someone..
I have used the classifieds and ebay and my favorite....gabe0807

...is ebay. The problem with the classifieds is if you're priced too high you don't really know it and I got tons of people asking me then not buying or saying they're sending money so I'd turn down other buyers then they wouldn't. One guy even had me send a wheelset COD and then refused to pay for it so I was stuck with like $40 shipping charge and had turned down everybody who wanted the wheel since that time.....little punk. Then when I called him he picked up but acted like it was a wrong number, but I recognized his voice. Anyway.....

I have had very good luck on ebay and here's why: The item prices itself. I start every one of my auctions at $.01 and let the market set the price. There is a set timeframe for closure. The person has to bid by the end of the auction. There is some sort of recourse for non-paying bidders. I've run well over 100 auctions and I've only had one returned item and maybe one or two non-paying bidders. But eBay will issue you a fee credit if the bidder doesn't pay, so I just ran the item again.
