Recommendations for cycle specific long pants?Tad

Anyone know of any long pants that are good for biking? I want them for commuting/city riding, so lycra is out of the question. I'm sick of jeans. I'm looking for something loose in the right places, doesn't get caught in the chain and doesn't look too bizarre. It needs to be rugged and it'd be nice if it had big pockets.

Is there such a thing?? What do you guys do for your lower half in the cold/wet?

beat up hiking pants. Cheap ski pants are nice cause they don't have a liner so you can put on some leg warmers to keep warm if needed but they keep the ski pants keep the chill off as they are mostly if not totally windproof, not waterproof though. Another good thing about ski pants is that they will have an elastic cuff so you don't have to worry about getting the pant leg caught.

hiking pants are good too, i've got some synthetic ones they aren't water proof but they can handle late fall and some winter riding in CO. They are also zip offs so if it gets too warm just take the legs off, though the zipper off legs might annoy some folks.
Check out Campmor.com....zip off hiking pants work good...nmEbo

Great quality clothing, priced well (Mostly in NZ dollars) ships very quickly to the states. I have had a bunch of stuff sent to me no problems. Made by cyclists for cyclists, they even sew a tire patch into the seams of most of their garments, in case of emergencys.

I like loose fitting tights (I don't like wearing tight fitting lycra in public). I have some from Mountain Hardware that I really like. I think they are hiking/climbing pants, but unfortunately they don't make them anymore. However, other companies do. Here are a few examples:
