| Tubeless/Disc Setup Suggestions... | Broken Spoke Oct 21, 2003 7:26 PM | | My current setup of XTR V-brakes and 517s' is good but I want better. I need better flat-prevention and more controlled braking. I am looking at Dave's wheels, Shimano's XT wheelset with discs, and might possibly wait for the SL Juicy Avids. Anyone have a killer setup (discs and tubeless) without a weight penalty that I could convert to? |
| I tried to break my crossrocs all season thousands of miles | moab63 Oct 21, 2003 8:20 PM | | I started the year at 210lb, did 12 races. I did have to relace the rear wheel and I have magura martas more brakes that you need. Im down to 180lb. Next season same wheels. They are about 180.00 right now and not too heavy. |
| where did you see crossroc-disc for ? | Pedalfaraway Oct 22, 2003 12:14 PM | | Jenson Usa has some cross-rocs for 180 but they are not disc. Did you soo some disc ones for $180? If you did tell me where so I can get some for spare's |

| re: Tubeless/Disc Setup Suggestions... | MikeeR Oct 22, 2003 3:03 AM | | I'd contact Larry at Mountain High Cyclery about wheels and some XT levers/XTR calipers. Larry's reputation is well known and the XT/XTR discs I recently got from him has me wondering why I waited so long to go to discs. |
| Chris King disc ISO hubs with mavic x3.1 rims.... | fm OR mf Oct 22, 2003 10:05 AM | | You can use 6-bolt XT rotors....
I've heard some pretty lame stuff about the new xt & xtr centerlock set-up being noisy.
make sure to ask for "disc specific" 3.1 rims- they make a rim brake model too, same name. |
