| Hayes Brakes HFX9 | jekyllrider24 Nov 26, 2003 2:43 PM | | Quick question.. I recently purchased Hayes HFX disc brake for my Cannondale Jekyll that had the Coda expert disc brakes with CODA 6" 4 Bolt Rotor. Here is the question - Will a CODA rotor work with the Hayes brakes? I can't see why it wouldn't provided it is the same width (6") and thickness. I haven't recieved the brakes yet to check.. I'm just really curious! |

Most of the time, Coda brakes have an adapter on them.
If its a CODA hub, you can get a 4->6 bolt adapter.
I would use the CODA first though. |

| Sure it should, unless Cannondale has.... | Squash Nov 27, 2003 9:03 AM | | gotten really proprietary in the last couple of years you should have no problem using the Hayes calipers with the Coda rotors. Unless Cannondale has messed with the thickness of the rotors or done some wierd posistioning of the braking surface of the rotor to make them proprietary you shouldn't have a problem. When you get your new brakes simply compare the Hayes rotors to the Coda rotors for thickness, diameter and location of braking surface. That will tell you for sure. Any large differences in the above between the two could cause problems. Most likely though you won't have any problems.
