Fork Upgrade for the WifeNYC

does anyone have a fork recommendation for a woman? she's got a fisher big sur (decent hardtail with a shitty fork) and wants/needs something that is more adjustable and/or more plush for a smaller rider. money is an issue since the bike's not worth all that much.

ebay, do a word search for noleen in the bicycles section.

$99.99 (i own six now), 75mm or 100mm travel, 32mm stanchions, 3.1 Ibs with 8.25" of steerer (including the SFN), v-brake and disc mounts, air spring and air damped, adjustable rebound, great for riders from 120pounds or up, easily inflated with a floor pump (45-80psi per leg). More reviews on the forks in the save some weight section.

Don't usually agree with DeeEight, but i will on this one. I have a mega-air on my bike, which works fine, but am getting ready to put it on my wife's santa cruz cushtail simply because it fits her needs better than it fits mine. Your fork should come with a shock pump, so no floor pump necessary. Dead simple to work on, and is generally a pretty decent fork.

Why does it have to be air?World B. Free

The pre-Skareb Manitou xc forks (SX-R and MARS) were undersprung for most riders, but excellent for lighter guys and ladies.

are the forks adjustable between 80/100mm or are the different forks? If so, how can you tell which ones are 80 or 100mm.

Thanks,
KMan

Weight of a sid. Stiff or stiffer then my Vanilla R. Almost as plush. 32mm tubes with C and R controls. Bought a 2nd fork today. I've posted 3 reviews in a row at the LW board (you've prob already seen them by now)for the last 3 days..like today. Its badass. 3lbs 1oz with a 8.75" steerer, starfangled nut, etc. $99 from a retail of $399.

And those RRalphs are FAST! Corners like crazy. Off camber high speed stuff is one of its strongest points. Yes indeedy. $12.99 at the same place as the fork. Got 6 tires too this week.

Both items..
Funny thing is last year....KMan

I almost bought one for the price. Think they were a bit more then...but ended up buying the Fox instead. For $100 and that weight I had to buy one so I did just that last night. If I end up getting the Trek Fuel carbon frame and use this fork I will save about 1 pound of my race bike....which would be a large FS with disc @ 22.5lbs. Not too shabby eh!

My wife is going to kill me as I bought a snowblower today as well.
75 or 100, not 80 !DeeEight

Noleen never offered 80mm as a fork travel for the megaairs. There's a 1" long top out spacer inside the lower stanchion area that is removed from each side to change the travel, takes 10 mins, I explained the procedure in a message in the save some weighs forum lastweek.

I know ediscount is listing them as 3.15" and they're WRONG!

The blue/red sticker forks are coming with the topout spacers installed, the blue/grey sticker forks don't have them at all.
