| Who makes setback posts other than Thomson? | Snuz Jan 16, 2004 8:35 AM | | I was surprised Thomson only gives a little more than half an inch. Anyone else give a little more? |
| Titec does.... | RED5 Jan 16, 2004 8:47 AM | | "Make getting off-the-back easier, and go over-the-front less! Our Hell-Bent post is Knock-Rated (our sure sign of unquestionable durability!), and offers more backset than any other MTB post, putting your weight further behind your bike to help tame even the wildest descents." The offset of the post is 1.5".

| That is the one I've got. Thomson is no better than most... | Danny Jan 17, 2004 1:16 AM | | "setback" seatposts. 90% of the seatposts on the market have the clamp offset to the side. Thomson uses a center clamp. Their setback post only gets them back to where most offset clamp posts are. The Titec Hellbent has twice the setback as the Thomson. |
| RaceFace (nm) | JohnB Jan 16, 2004 9:48 AM | | . |
| also Easton & Salsa | logbiter Jan 16, 2004 10:37 AM | | salsa's somewhere btw thomson & raceface (1").
Easton is close to 1.5" (ea70)
and titec is a good 1.5" .. heavy but bombproof.
I just picked up a used Salsa, haven't any time on it yet, going on a new bike build.
Easton EA70, raceface XY and titec hellbent have all worked pretty well for me. |
