| Alfred E bike Sucks | BigStonz Jan 16, 2004 12:29 PM | | 1. When I sent back an unopened spring I ordered for a rear shock they would not accept it.
2. They have incorrect pictures on their site for 2 Kenda tires. I cancelled my tire order because I wasn't sure what I was going to get. They told me they would not charge me any fee. But sure enough, they billed my card 15% on the cost.
I know they have good prices, but consider shopping elsewhere. |
| re: Alfred E bike Rocks! | f'nætik (aka næstep) Jan 16, 2004 12:57 PM | | Those guys have been nothing but great to me on numerous orders.
As to your point number one, their website clearly states you need to call ahead for returns and mark the RA# on the box, otherwise it will be refused.
As to your point number two, are you saying you bought a pair of tires mail order based on a picture??? Did you call after the return was received and ask to be credited the 15%? It could have been an honest mistake if they said at first they would.
RETURNS
If you elect to return an item, it must be received by Alfred E. Bike within 30 calendar days of the order being originally placed. All returned items must be in new and unused condition in original packaging. A 15% restocking fee will apply to all returns and exchanges. Please call (269)349-9423 prior to returning items to receive a return authorization code, which must be present on the outside of the box you ship your return in. BOXES NOT BEARING A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER WILL BE REFUSED. |
| agreed, AE Bike is great. | race frehley Jan 16, 2004 3:56 PM | | I've had nothing but good experiences with AE Bike. |
| I've known of them for some time, but took interest recently when... | Bikeless Rider Jan 16, 2004 5:02 PM | | ...out of curiousity I was searching for a bearing press tool. Anticipating the purchase of one of the cartridge bearing pivot full suspension frames I've been looking at, I thought I'd see how much they were, as instructions for using the vise method on mainpivots sounded complicated, even with the help of a friend or repair stand to hold the frame. The kit I found is made by United Bicycle Reasearch, called the SBK-I. Many sites list it via a QBP search, but AE Bike was the lowest at about $124.00, more than I wanted to pay, but good enough compared to the others to make me want to put them on my Favorites list.
I would add that as long as they've stayed in business, and as clearly as they show their policies (which are typical), they must be doing something right. |

| AE bike is great, it's Beytound Bikes that Sucks | Crash_FLMB Jan 19, 2004 5:19 PM | | BB gets trashed here so often and I am one of the ones they screwed over. AE Bike has bent over backwards for me in the past. Great customer service.
I bet you're a BB employee and are just trying to trash other companies. |
