U.P.S damaged my frame please help!Rue73

There is a small dent barely noticeable but none the less a dent. I received the bike two days ago and called u.p.s that day. They are waiting for some paperwork from the shop I bought the bike from. I am convinced This will not effect the ride of the bike but the vallue is diminished. What should I be looking for in terms of a resolution. The damage is in the middle of the down tube. There is a hole on the box that lines up with the damage to the bike. Has anyone had this happen to them in the past.

Thanks, Eric

if the bike was packaged within UPS standards. They are very specific about padding and the bike needing so many iches of clearance from the box. I would think even if UPS rejects the claim, your shop's insurance, or the shop itself would take care of it. I bought a bike that was damaged (paint only) in transit and ups refused to cover it due to insufficient packing. I had to pay for the re-paint myself. Good luck
there arbitrary policies really piss me offJrm

Its allways the drivers word against yours..and in most cases the drivers are full of shlt and your right. i was kinda talking out my as$ on this one cuz i have never had a damage claim against only delivery screw-ups.

was additional insurance added for the cost of the bike? UPS pretty much trashed one of my bikes that I shipped home from a trip. Front wheel was toast, holes in the box, dings in the frame. I raised hell, they sent an adjuster out and cut a check for replacement value - in today's dollars - for the bike. That may be overkill for yours, and I think the default coverage is $100. So at least shoot for that to try and repair/repaint the area.

good luck,
HW

I hate ups! they forked up a frame on me that I sold on ebay, which I shipped in a box inside another box (they ripped both, either on the return or way there, I will never know) and said it was my fault! Why pay to insure your package when they are going to blame you anyway! I ship with US Postal (go lance!) or Fedex ground if its too big for team blue!
