Jan 16, 2004 9:11 PM | | I ran across an unusual looking full sus. frame on the internet. the owner has been told it's not a Schwinn as the stickers show and I agree. I have picture for email but would like to describe frame. If you think you know what it is let me know---please. the entire frame is alum, the downtube is slightly oval and mostly rectangular. It is open under downtube and the rear coilover shock is in the opening. the shock has a small hose going to a resevoir cylinder further up the downtube. the rearend pivots around b/b and has linkage under the b/b area. It's not a howngrown, rocket, delta , straight 4,6, or 8 or anything like I've ever seen. HELP !! |

Symptomatically, lay people recognize it as being elitist/arrogant but fail to recognize the individual has some serious doubts about themselves. Granted, D8 may know a lot about bicycles, but clinically (and most likely in practice), his failings elsewhere create the attitude seen on this board whereby he feels he can "make up" for his weaknesses berating/belittling others behind the safety of his keyboard. If he were in a bar his friends would be his strenght to expressive his abrasive behavior within their relative safety, but alone the individual would most likely shrivel.
More usual reasons are lack of earnings as compared to his peers, relationship issues with authority figures (parents,police) and the opposite sex, comparative issues as in where his peers stand socially as compared to himself.
Also in practice a individual will, in light of the above paragraph, grapple with bouts of depression, anger, and frustration that typically devolve into more problematic symptoms.
Consistent with his behavior, D8 will deny all the above, as he should, because it is not only his right to deny it, but also part of the behavior so typical of his case.

I don't expect you to accept the truth, much as I don't expect alcholics or drug addicts to admit they have a problem. It's just a matter of time before your callousness (my opinion) catches up with you. Consider it a helpful suggestion (though I'm sure you won't). The realization won't occur until you hit bottom and blame everyone else for your misery.

Unless you are supremely competent peforming a task someone is willing to pay you gobs of money for (and we are sure you're not a strong wage-earner) your attitude is only tolerated, at best, in menial, mindless performing jobs (if you have a job).
And given your consistently short responses it's obvious you barely made it through high school.
I feel completely confident with my assesment. You wrote you don't have time for me yet you respond to all of my "rants". You haven't denied anything I've written and you've done nothing but call me names. I'll give you a little lesson now - when a debate devolves into one party resorting to name-calling, it's obvious to all the name-caller has lost.

Jan 23, 2004 8:43 AM | | Back in the olde days, schwinn had a new fully suspension mtb that they design with imput from american motorcycle designer Buell. I had a down tube mounted pull shock with a traditional diamond front section and a small stubby rear triangle.
Maybe Schwinn right before the old chapter 11 was experimenting with the buell design for a new DH frame that wasn't just the GT design. Seems to share alot of traits with the old Buells and what with the nice alu design and fabrication seems to be a larger company.
Definitely not a nicolai, they up until very recently have never made a push type design like this.
