When the coating wore off the discs breaking power diminished considerably. When I emailed Stan, he claimed this shouldn't be happening and that I should try "cool stop pads".I recalled reading somewhere that the discs could be recoated, but Stan wouldn't respond to this, even w/direct question email. With the issues of ocassional loud squeeling for an entire ride and loss of power, I discontinued using them, too bad, they sure are light. This was his first parts run, maybe they've improved. Buy a set & use them just for raceday? |

They seem to require a little more force at the lever to achieve same braking power than the steel rotors....this may improve after a little break-in. They tend to squeek on the fast, steep stuff when Im having to ride them pretty hard but that is the only time (for now) Weight savings was good...about 140 grams with alum rotor bolts. Well see if they hold up through this seasons races ?? |
