| NRS Fork Upgrade | johnmre Jan 20, 2004 6:27 AM | | I am looking at putting a Manitou Black Elite 80/100 on my '03 NRS 2. My question is how will setting the fork at 100mm affect the handling of my bike? Stock is a Skareb Comp 80mm. Has anyone else put a 100mm travel fork on their NRS? Thanks for the help. |
| we have noticed poor handling on Sm And Med, with Large... | rideit... Jan 20, 2004 10:54 AM | | Seeming to work a little better on the uphils. The cool thing is that the knob is external, so if you have a Small or Medium, climb in 80mm, kick everyone's arse going uphill, and while you watch your friends straggle to the top, casually flick the lever to 100mm, and rip her down. 90mm seems to be ideal on this bike, I made my own spacers for a fox Vanilla, works perfectly! |

| re: 100mm is fine/ | larryc Jan 20, 2004 12:32 PM | | had 80mm/ now using a psylo race.120 soaks up rough stuff exc./100 best all around.needed to adjust angle of the saddle-thats it.handles A-OK.will never go back to 80mm only fork. |
| Larry is correct. of course! | rideit.. Jan 20, 2004 9:17 PM | | I am more than willing to change my stance a bit, we only heard reports of "wheelbarrel" steering on the Small's, with very firm 100mm suspension.( X-flys, Sid's, etc). Both Med and Large customers all enjoyed 100mm completely, given proper setup. Thanks and good luck, BHS |
| 100mm is a good fit | Ghoastrider Jan 20, 2004 12:48 PM | | I put a Marzocchi X-Fly 100 on my NRS and the bike handles great. Good climbing and fast going down. |
