The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is hosting a series of mountain bike rides to showcase trails that could be lost to potential Wilderness designations. Recently re-introduced Congressional legislation calls for 2.5 million acres of California public land to be reclassified as federal Wilderness. Bicycle use is categorically prohibited in Wilderness areas. Many of the proposed areas contain popular mountain bike trails that cyclists have ridden for years.

| The Mill Creek Ride | dave54 Aug 19, 2003 10:50 PM | | The link to the Mill Creek ride is confusing. The Glassburner Meadows trail is not part of the Mill Creek trail. They are not even in the same watershed nor do they connect without paved riding.
The Mill Creek Trail is getting longer. The short piece of road between Hole in the Ground Campground and the trailhead is being obliterated and converted to trail -- adding about 1.5 miles to the trail (the road will end/trail begin at Rocky Gulch Creek). Construction is currently underway. Heavy construction should be finished by October. Final trail finishing will probably be done next spring/summer. |
