IMBA visits Oregon- Check out the news coverage (xpost)sasquatch

Last weekend, the IMBA trail care crew paid a visit to Lowell, Oregon 20 minutes from Eugene. They gave a presentation on trail building and design, and then we went out and started building a trail reroute to avoid a new campground. We had a godd time, learned alot and it was a great opportunity to open up lines of communications with some local land managers and trail maintenance supervisors. Check out the article in Sunday's Register guard:

I even got a quote in the article (see last sentence)

We had about 15 club members show up for the class, and a few left early to ride , but around 10 stayed to do the trail work. One really exciting thing is that the new trail section will incorporate some stunts like log drops and wooden ramps into the trail (with beginner's lines to avoid them) This is sanctioned by the landowner, the Army Corps of Engineers thanks to IMBA's presentation and explanation about the increased demand and lack of legal places to build. We can all thank IMBA's new partnership with the Corps, and I suggest yall try and work with the Corps in your local areas to come up with permission to build some new school trails. I hope all yall can get the IMBA trail care crew to your local area soon.
Later, Sasquatch
