Reinforcements are on their way...(4 posts)

Reinforcements are on their way...Dances With Hornets
Nov 8, 2003 4:39 PM
I called the Calvery for you guys asking Pete, Zonic and and the usual IMBA core supporters and died in the whool radical green supporters to come and help get the hit counts up on this board, especially my posts.

Dances With Hornets "Calling Pete, Zonic Man and the usual suspects" 11/8/03 12:58pm

Here's a letter for all you fellow core IMBA supporters and radical green followers on this board.

Dances With Hornets "Calling Pete, Zonic Man and the usual suspects" 11/8/03 1:10pm

Note the mention of the "Forest Service biologist was lamenting
the possible loss of some frog due to the devastating fire."

That trail Jerry mentions wanting to get built runs from Silverwood Lake to Big Bear and is for hiking and mountain biking only. They have a million dollar grant to get it built.

Are you sure there is absoulutly no connection between the California Wildlands Project:

http://www.calwild.org/campaigns/cwp.php

Or the "Yuba River Wildlands Campaign" mentioned in the anti-IMBA letter by the Wilderness Proponents I posted here:

Dances With Hornets "California Wilderness Update" 11/7/03 4:17pm

To Dave Forman of EarthFirst! and his Wildlands Campaign mentioned here:

"REWILDING NORTH AMERICA Tuesday, October 21, 7:00 PM
The indomitable DAVE FORMAN is coming! In his new position as director of the Rewilding Institute, an offshoot of the Wildlands Project he has been spearheading for some years, he will discuss his goal of continental conservation (all of North America), and how he hopes to achieve it. He is writing a book on this topic, to be published by Island Press in 2004. As you may remember, Dave was an original member of Earth First! He has been working on conservation issues his entire adult life, was a director of the Sierra Club some years ago, and has written three books: The Lobo Outback Funeral Home, Confessions of an Eco Warrior, and The Big Outside. He will have copies of Lobo Outback available for sale and signing."

I wonder what "he will discuss his goal of continental conservation (all of North America)" means mentioned in this meeting announcement?

By the way he is the Chairman of the Wildlands Campaign as mentioned in this article in which he tells Jim Hasenhauer he will never allow mountain bikes in wilderness:

"Existing wilderness areas must remain completely closed to bicycles and other human-powered wheeled contraptions."

http://www.warriorssociety.org/News/mtn_bike.pdf

Does this mean after they acheive the current wilderness designation he and the rest of the environmental movement will stop seeking them?

Hmm, if Dave won't allow mountain bikers into wilderness and he acheives his goal of "continental conservation (all of North America)" you all better close down IMBA and take up hiking.

OK, now here's the deal, I've already offered Preacher a comp to our Pow Wow events, but if Pete and Zonic man can get the hit counts on my alert posts past 1000 to match the hits on my wilderness alert on the Passion message board I'll comp them too. I'm not going to offer this to BobL because he always gets to ride for free!

Such a deal!

Oh wait, one more thing. We have a trail work project working on the trails above the San Juan Trail; you know which trail I mean, it was in a proposed wilderness designation, part of the California Wildlands Project.

Too bad for you fanatic green supporters that we, along with our equestrian and trail runner "allies" defeated this proposed wilderness for this area.

What would I do without you core IMBA and fanactical green movement supporters, without you the Warrior's Society wouldn't get the publicity it does.

Now I really got to go and I'll leave you all alone so I can get that newletter done.

The Calvery's coming so this Warrior is retreating until another day...

This offer expires on 11/11/03.

This offer does not allow substitution for the Toad Festival event in lieu of a Pow Wow Event (another shameless plug):

http://www.warriorssociety.org/Events_And_Results/toad_festival_general_info.html

Actual cash value is equal to $65.00 to $85.00 depending on Pow Wow event.

Offer to be entered in a Pow Wow event can be exchanged for a sponsor donated prize not to exceed $65.00 in value.

This offer not valid where prohibited by state of local ordinances.
