| MTBR responds | gregg Oct 14, 2003 3:59 PM | | Hello Everyone,
Not sure why some of you are so unhappy with our coverage. MTBR was the first site with Live Daily Coverage up! We had over 70 pics go live from the Outdoor Demo on Saturday night. No other site had their coverage up that early. (I know, I personally verified this myself Sat. night).
We have been updating pics every night from the show. And believe me, we've got TONS more pics coming. I know people are anxious to see all the latest, greatest stuff, but what does it really matter if you have to wait an extra day or two? Is there some kind of timer running?
Be patient, we've got some great, high-quality pics coming in our Virtual Tradeshow coverage and lots more daily coverage pics.
It's not the people mentioning other sites that prompted the removal of all the earlier complaints. Hell, I enjoyed hangin' out ever so briefly with the Pinkbike guys at the show. (Next year, we'll definitely have to hang out more Mike! And good to finally meet you in person, Acadian.) I talked with the guy that runs DropMachine.com. I didn't see Cam from NSMB, but I would have said hello and talked shop if I had. If you want to check out other sites for coverage, that's fine. I'd probably do the same thing.
What doesn't make sense is people coming here and slamming us when we're working pretty darn hard to bring you the coverage? We've got one of the most popular pics from Interbike in our Outdoor Demo gallery (thanks Magura babe!) Everybody needs to chill out, and rest assured that we'll still be bringing you more coverage and more coverage. Just because the show ends, doesn't mean that our coverage of the show ends.
Open to all honest, constructive criticism and/or comments.

| Good work and thanks | gurp Oct 14, 2003 4:28 PM | | I know its tough to pull off (I've worked my share bike events, lots of talking, work, and no sleep). Thanks for the hard work. |
| I've been critical in the past | tl1 Oct 14, 2003 4:49 PM | | ...about slow and sloppy coverage but I think it's been quite good so far good this year. I think some of those bitching were thinking all the coverage was on this page and haven't seen the photos pages.

| re: MTBR responds | The Mouse Oct 14, 2003 5:21 PM | | Ok, I'm a softy, I take it all back now. I was just so frustrated after looking at the same pics for 2 days. Then again I wouldn't mind looking at the magura babe for another 2 months!! BOOTY!!! Whoops, got carried away. You wouldn't know where to get more pics of her would ya? ;)
Thanks for letting us know whats up. Knowing that there is someone out there and not just a robot controlling the site is a good thing.
P.S.
Did you get any speedcific photos? Booth 860?
P.S
You know Magura babes email? ;)

| thanks mtbr team! | paul-w Oct 15, 2003 12:03 AM | | Good job guys, live coverage is rough duty. I bet the booth coverage will be even better, and worth the wait, knowing Photo John. - Paul |
| correction to myself (sorry Luc and Radek!) | gregg Oct 15, 2003 7:20 AM | | Just wanted to be sure that my facts are 100% accurate.
Pinkbike had the first coverage with their travel journal article and Luc's VP-Free write-up on Friday. But, we still had the most extensive Outdoor Demo coverage up on Saturday.
Thanks for the positive comments, more pics coming within hours this morning!

| correction to myself (sorry Luc and Radek!) | The Mouse Oct 15, 2003 2:02 PM | | Thanks, would definatly appreciate it, especially if you could get some pics of there aluminum speedplay inserts, they take 20g of the x series, so 130g pedal!!!
Thanks again
P.S.
Got any more Magura babe pics? |
| Open to all honest, constructive criticism and/or comments | phatlizard Oct 15, 2003 11:00 AM | | Okay I am sitting here in cold old Germany and wait for pictures to come because you guys have some great stuff at Interbike. And yes I was disappointed until I was reading your statement!
I was hoping that some regulars from several forums would help you out with pictures. Hollywood was there for the Singlespeeders not to forget Terminaut, Bigwheel for the 29ers ... and so on ... (that is the two forums that I check).
I am sure several people from different forums were at the show and it would be great to see their "finds". I am sure those pictures will show up sooner or later but I wish they would all be in the gallery and not just in several postings!
Greetings

| good point.... | gregg Oct 16, 2003 9:55 AM | | ...I've gone ahead and locked 'woods thread on the Interbike main page. I'll have to have someone look for more threads to lock (or if YOU know the urls for those threads, email me! gregg@mtbr.com ).
Thanks.

| re: MTBR responds | stiingya Oct 24, 2003 10:22 PM | | That's not true, pinkbike and singletrack had pics up on thursday. while you guys just had the Dean booth when they aren't even at interbike? By saturday night when you said you verified you were the only ones with coverage pinkbike had over three hundred pics and several articles. And singletrack had five different articles with pictures. Late saturday night even mountain bike action's lame website had about five pics from interbike on it...
I will fully admit that if I were in your shoes I would be very angry at so many people complaining when the site is free, and I do apologize for my part. But at the same time such things are what forum's are about. And I honestly hope that the feedback will promote change for the better next year. |
