Tire news....Schwalbe Albert 2.25....Ventanarama
Oct 15, 2003 10:20 AM
Sweet! I've been thinking for months (and a few others on mtbr have mentioned the same) that it would be nice if Schwalbe would make a 2.25 in the Albert series. The Little Albert is pretty skinny and the Fat Albert is a true 2.35. Well, it's going to happen, they were showing one at Interbike and it will be available early next year. Their whole line is looking great this year. The Racing Ralph looks like a sweet hardpack tire, and had more tread in the center than I expected. The 2.4 looks fairly true to size, nice big tire.

I know Schwalbe has a couple of USt tires, but I'm curious about the bigger tires. Also, did you see any new UST offerings at interbike?

The Schwalbe info is on their web site (no UST Racing Ralph).

The most interesting other UST tires are the Hutchinsons. Most models are available in "Light" models and a variety of sizes from 1.85 to 2.30.
