| And now four days after the show closed it doors ... | phatlizard Oct 18, 2003 6:08 AM | | ... I am totally disappointed by the quality of the "coverage" ...
Foo-Riders.com (seems to me they are online for like a week) with Terminaut and Aosty found more interessting products (BIKES!!!) then the mtbr.com staff (I was told by one of your sponsors you get paid to do all this, what ever that means!)
Too many parties???
thumbs down!

| re: And now four days after the show closed it doors ... | bilbo Oct 18, 2003 8:18 AM | | No kidding! What a pathetic attempt to cover Interbike. There are more pictures of "chicks" at Interbike than there are of actual bikes. Come guys... pull it together!

| have to agree | Wasatch Walt Oct 18, 2003 12:44 PM | | 1) deleting the complaint posts was poor style
2) the interbike coverage seems like very, very thin soup. pics slow in coming and not very voluminous, very little explanation or insight of impressions of the products. little sense of excitement, it seems that one energetic person could of done much, much more than one we have seen so far by apparently several people, one REALLY does have to wonder what you guys were actually doing .... if you were working hard, you haven't discounted the obvious perception vs. the unknown reality.
3) the emphasis on hotties, shows a adolescent and male dominated perspective and is certainly a turnoff to a large percentage of women, women have to be an important area of market, and yet the atitude is that they are here for voyeurism, not as customers and fellow participants. If I was manufacturing product, and advertising on MTBR, I would be on the phone very fast taking you apart for this error. My perception would be "You cost me money!" |
| that bike with the beads, why so many pics of that | codi Oct 18, 2003 1:54 PM | | That bike with the beads, why so many pics of that, how many people want a bike that looks like that or even cares about seeing it, who cares if a Cool bike is underneath it as mtbr says, we get a few pics of that but real stuff gets 1 pic, but mostly no pics because so much of the show wasn't even posted.
I think its just like last year where they just partyed all the time (all the pics from the first 3 day where of them partying)
the daily pics where updated 1-2 frigen times, with 10-20 pics maybe, not every day like it says.
Years ago mtbr posted 100s of pics each day |
| Foo riders does have very nice coverage | tl1 Oct 18, 2003 8:32 PM | | I like being able to navigate around much easier especially.
Thanks, I never heard of that site before. http://www.fooriders.com/main.mv |
| Foo riders does have very nice coverage | stiingya Oct 25, 2003 3:55 PM | | But like every site on the net WITH really good coverage they are all about the freeride slant...
which is way cool, just that the biggest thing I have ever done is a 4ish foot to a vert trany :) ( pretty decent verbage for a XC guy huh )
which is why I just want to get a longer travel trail bike so I can keep working my way up, or I guess down drops. Who knows maybe someday I will get to the point that I am looking at actually needing something with the capabilities that the current crop of freeride bikes can offer. But for the moment such bikes would be pretty much a complete waste on my drop talents such as they are.
though I have to admit I have been looking very seriously at getting a freeride/jump hardtail lately. Maybe recapture some of that youthfull stuff where I would ride around without a destination ( beyond 7 eleven ) and find stuff to jump on or off. I threw flats, a shorty stem, and got the suspension really squishy on my XC bike for a couple of weeks and caroused the local new home subdivision in the evenings. It was amazing how many things there were to jump and drop from. It's just that it is a pain in the ass to change up the set up on your XC bike when you actually need it to do some XC. Plus a couple of drops to flat I could feel the whole bike sorta become a giant wet noodle. Sooner or later I was gonna break it that way..... :)
Um anyway what was this post about again...? :) |
