Question about Santa Cruz(4 posts)

Question about Santa CruzSkippy Dunbar
Oct 23, 2003 2:38 PM
Has Santa Cruz gotten there act together, and are they going to be able to meet the demand for there bikes in 2004..? Or, even just be able to give the bike dealer's an acurate estamate of there delivery..? How many order's were canceled this year because they said it would take 12 week's to order a Heckler, and then after 16 week's they said "maybee it will ship by the end of the month". I canceled my Heckler order after 16 "long" week's. Then I found a Bullit in the next state that was set up like a heckler.. Then it turn's out my Bullit is less then 1 pound lighter then the Heckler, and twice as strong..! I'm rich, I buy a new mountain bike every two year's..! I probably won't buy Santa Cruz again only because of the run around I got.. They should hire some people that know how to use a air brush because those sticker's suck. There were air bubbles on mine.. The sticker's came off my bike before I rode it.. They do make a nice bike though..

Oop's.. when I said "Then it turn's out my Bullit is less then 1 pound lighter then the Heckler"

I meant to say "Then it turn's out my Bullit is less then 1 pound heavyer then the Heckler.."

Sorry.. I'm not very smart.

I agree about the baloney Santa Cruz put's you though if you have to order a bike from them. I ordered my bike at the end of July, and I am still waiting..
I had to wait even longer, but it was worth it...gregg

I had put my name on the list for the new Heckler in about January of '02, before it was even out. And of course, whenever you're on a wait list for a brand new bike, it's gonna be a while. But I had other bikes to ride, so no biggie.

Expected the bike in June, got it in August. I had to change my choice in paint to speed up delivery. Had to have it for my annual Toad's ride.

You're right, though, they do build a nice bike...
