01' judy SL travel adjustments??spunky

I need to know where I can find information on how to make my new SL have 80 mm of travel. I put a zip tie on it and all I got was 62mm after a pretty intense ride. It came stock on my trek 8000 and seemed like it whould be 80mm stock but maybe not. Anyway, where can I find rebuild instructions and what parts to I need for 80. Also, do you recommend 100mm of travel for racing sport cross country? thanks very much.

You can find it at manual of Judy 2001.

Click on the link below for full teardown and tuning info for your fork.

As for the 100mm advice... that's hard to say. I will never say that more travel is always better, but there is certainly a time and a place for everything. However, keep in mind that running more travel will also raise the front end, resulting in slower steering. In addition, the extra travel will also lead to increased bobbing, which would certainly be detrimental on climbs, sprints, etc. Then again, the course on which you're racing may warrant that amount of travel...
