Shocks for 24" wheels(2 posts)

Shocks for 24" wheelsdirt diggler

Are there any decent shocks out there for a 24" wheel? I know AMP used to make an F4 for their 24" wheel B24, but they are out of the bicycle business now. I am considering taking an RST Mozo (because they still use bolts on the crown)with an Englund air kit, cutting off an inch from the top of each stanchion leg, and getting a 24" shock from the result. The loss of an inch should not result in any contact of the tire with the crown, as there is a safety buffer of extra stanchion leg length anyway. Also, the intended rider is so light that she is unlikely to bottom out the travel, even on a light setting for her weight. Of course the shock would have to use a disk brake, as standard slider legs have the brake bosses positioned for 26" rims only. Has anybody tried this type of approach. The RST 281R shock on the bike now sucks big time, it barely even moves under her weight. Can it be adjusted with lighter springs and elastomers?

Check the web site for Terry Bikes. They sell 24" bikes with shocks. See what they use.
