| upgrading to '01 Psylo XC | Michal Oct 19, 2001 10:30 AM | | I'm thinking about upgrading from '00 Judy XC to '01 Psylo XC. They're both hydracoil forks and i wander if Psylo works any better. My Judy has developed a little play after just 3 month of use, will the Psylo be better? What about axel to crown length at 10cm of travel comparing to Judy? How much more abusement can the Psylo take? |

If I were you I wouldn't get the '01 model because of the bushing problems...which have been fixed on the '02. Plus you get the new U-Turn functionality too, which is worth it by itself. As far as performance goes between the Judy and the Psylo....night and day. The Psylo is in a completely different performance class. You won't be disappointed.

| Even better... | m&m's Oct 19, 2001 5:41 PM | | Get a Manitou X-vert cheap and better then the pyslo
if you are concerned about stiffness then get a Marzocchi Z.4 or Z.3 |
| Bushings........ | RED5 Oct 19, 2001 6:11 PM | | were only a problem in the first batch of Psylos from 01. I wouldn't and din't worry about it when I got mine. Plus who cares the bushing/seals can be upgraded for 30.00. Whoopee. Go for it. |
| Bushings........ | Michak Oct 20, 2001 1:57 AM | | How can i know that the Psylo i'm going to buy is free of those bushings problems? |
| you could..... | RED5 Oct 20, 2001 6:35 PM | | probably ask rock shox after which serial numbers is safe. I have read that anything with an xxxL xxxxxx is OK. Mine has a xxxC xxxxxx and seems fine. However, I am not worried because the upgrade kit is only $30, no biggy. I only have a couple of rides on it so far set at 125mm and must say I am rather happy. Time will tell. |
| you could..... | Michal Oct 21, 2001 2:55 AM | | What changes have been made to the bushings, to fix those problems? |
| Rockshox......... | RED5 Oct 21, 2001 11:11 AM | | increased the size of the bushings in the bottom from 15mm to 45mm and in the top from 15mm to 30mm in the later 01' versions, newer 02' ones and in the upgrade kit. So as to due away with the slop that was being experienced with the early model 01's that everyone was having problems with. |
| Rockshox......... | Michal Oct 21, 2001 12:12 PM | | Thanx for help. |
