| Up the creek with out a bolt. | trailblazer Oct 19, 2001 2:38 PM | | Does any one know where I would be able to find GT parts. I snaped the bolt on my I-drive that mounts the rear shock to the frame. My LBS told me I was S.O.L. with GT and to try some local hardware stores for a close fit. I was also told by my college engineering prof. that most large companies are required by law to stock extra parts, even if they go out of business. But damed if I can find any way to get ahold of GT. I also wouldn't mind hearing some opions on how a non stock bolt may effect a fox float. Can anyone help me out? Any answer would be greatly appreciated! |
| Here you go... | DRoNe Oct 19, 2001 3:18 PM | | I broke mine three weeks ago...and was in the same predicament. The guys at GT said they couldn't help me out due to their current situation. Luckily, Wheelworld in so Cal had extra bolts and shipped them to me. Check out their site at wheelworld.com and give them a call.

We found a black hitensile allen bolt to fit. It's not a bike specific part so don't pay through the nose, go to a hardware shop.

| The stock bolt sucks... | JeffDoe Oct 21, 2001 5:06 AM | | ...as you have already noticed.
Dont install another one as that one will suck also...
A good hardware bolt is the only way to go. |
