Fox Float RL... any experiences?(2 posts)

Fox Float RL... any experiences?Smiker

I'm looking for a new fork for a new bike. At the moment I'm tossing up between a Fox Float RL and a 01 Marzocchi Z2 X-Fly (or maybe Atom Race). Of course, I'm also lusting over the Marathon... but that's just not going to happen. Coz of some deals that I could get, the Fox fork is about 25% more than the bombers... right now I'm leaning towards the X-Fly, but has anyone used the Float RL? Is it just amazing? Also I thought the lockout might be handy for racing and climbing. thanks for any insights.

I have owned a few of the Xflys and now a Float R 100mm
While I liked the 01 Xfly the Fox is better
I don't think the lockout is needed on forks, especially an 80mm like you are interested in

FYI: the 80 and 100mm Fox air shocks are the same, the 80 has a spacer in it to reduce it from 100 down to 80, that can easily be removed for 100mm use
