spots on 2002 Manitiou BLACK -stantion ???Matrix

I bought this bad azzz fork & i was just wondering : What could make spots on the 30mm sliders..One leg is spotted ?? Nut perfectly smooth just like other leg ?? Maybe happened at the factory ?

ive seen it lots on RS and Manitou. could be poor manufacturing, since the 2 companies are known for producing many recalled forks every year. I been told by a manufacturer its a storage thing with something splattered on legs accidentally during manufacturing................ah hell, that all sound like bullshoit dont it?
just call Answer and ask them to sell you a Marzocchi or Fox!!!!!!

I saw "splotching" on the 2001 bikes with nice Rock Shox fork on them. Mine in fact (2001 SID XC) has "splotches." The stanchions are perfectly smooth however so I'm not worried.
You can remove the splotching...Metroid

by coving the stanchions with a nice coat of Slick Honey. It works for all forks.
