Spikes on big hits???(4 posts)

Spikes on big hits???Orthie

Hi,

I've read in several places that the new Forx Float RLC spikes on big hits. I've been considering this fork for my new Switchblade but do not understand what that means. Can anybody explain it?

Thanks,

Orthie

It means it's not compressing fully, like something is stopping it. Could be caused by compression damper not letting enough oil through when the fork is moving over a big hit. During a big compression, a lot of oil has to move through the damper very quickly. Some forks facilitate this better than others. If your Fox fork has a compression damping adjustor (I'm not talking about rebound adjust, that's different) the first thing I'd try is backing it off most, if not all of the way.

Maybe due to the progressive ramping up of the air medium...

I haven't found that to be true whatsoever
the best thing I can say about the fork is that it "disappears"
it just does what it is supposed to and disappears under you
awesome fork
It tracks like it's on rails...
