Rear shock upgrade for 99 FSR?jtc

Which shocks can replace the stock RS Deluxe?
I've read that I need 6.25" eye-to-eye and 1.5" stroke, but I can't find any shocks out there with these specs.
Btw, it's a medium frame and a regular FSR (not a comp, pro, etc.)

I have a 98 FSR Ground Control. Same as yours (6.25 i2i, 1.5 stroke)
I replaced it with a Stratos Helix Pro (with Lockout)
The stroke is 1.8, so it bumps your travel from 4.2 to 5.01
I got mine with the lockout, but because the shock is so much better (I guess that's why) there is waaaaaaaaaaaay less peddle bob, so I rarely use it. It's $100cdn more for the lockout (ones a pro, ones an expert, the bike is downstairs)
My FSR wasn't on the Stratos 'fit list' so I needed to use a caliper to measure my existing bushings. Get the Stratos...other than the Z1 MCR, this is the best thing I did to my bike...well, maybe the front disc. Catch ya later
Where did you get the helix expert? Can't find a Cdn dealer.TC

I get alot of stuff fron Dukes. They have exceptional service, and I'm always satisfied with them. Here's their E-Mail...dukesonqueen@sympatico.ca
They have great prices, and the shipping is reasonable. I think my shock came to roughly $450-$475 total. If you go there, do me a favour and tell them Brian recommended you! Good luck with what you get
PS...it took about 2-3 weeks from the time I placed the order, till it was on my bike.
thanks, i'll try themTC

...I told Dukes (I deal with Rodney) my rider weight (with gear) and they threw in the correct mountainspeed spring rate. Maybe this is something Stratos does? I don't know, but it was no extra charge.
Agree on Helix.TNC

The FSR responds really well to either a Helix Expert or Pro. I have a '99 with a Mt. Speed 6" kit with a Helix Expert. The coil spring and air medium this shock offers really compliments the suspension design of an FSR.
