i'm doing my senior project on suspension and am looking for more technical information on how suspension works than what is offered at company websites. i want to know about fork internals, materials, building process, etc. if anyone has info on this topic please email me. thanks

Generally, on company websites you will only get half the story. For fork internals, the best bet is to look in an automotive suspension book and learn about the different types of dampers that exist. It is then just a matter of seeing how these relate to a particular fork.

For the manufacturing side of things, you could look at the specification of the fork then look up how parts are made in that way. For example for the cast sliders or forged crowns, any good manufacturing book or resource will show how these parts are made and the merits of that particular manufacturing process or material.

Shocks, as with most things are just some standard pieces of engineering fixed together in a certain order.
